Irish Horse Hall of Fame – Kilbaha
Celebrating past and present Equine Greatness
KILBAHA 1983 -2011
In May of 2011 we mourned the passing of a great horse, the Army horse, Kilbaha. This proud and brave Irish Sport horse remains a firm favourite for those who watched, followed and cheered for the gelding over the years.
Partnered by then Capt. John Ledingham, Kilbaha’s exceptional sporting longevity and durability, performing at the highest sporting level is testimony to the soundness and athleticism of the Irish Horse.
Sired by Tudor Rocket out of a Irish Sport Horse Mare, Scarlett O’ Hara, Kilbaha became a Derby Super star winning the Hickstead Derby 3 times as well as staggering 32 appearances’ for the Irish Nations Cup.
Kilbaha inspired a generation of show jumpers and left a sporting legacy. Kilbaha the horse with a big heart and the bravery of a lion, will go down in equine history and the Irish Horse Gateway’s Hall of Fame as an exceptional and great horse.
