Woodson wins the Irish Horse Gateway sponsored Amateur Grand Prix, and Irish bred mare shines with double of wins at Bolesworth International.
Olivia Woodson (USA) put in an impressive performance to win the Irish Horse Gateway CSI 1m25 Amateur class at Bolesworth International Horse Show on Sunday. She topped the predominantly British led field with a double clear, in a time of 38.32, aboard her 8yr old gelding, Cachacco.
There were some notable performances by Irish Sport Horses at Bolesworth, where Anthony Condon and Cavalier Rusticana jumped to second place in the Equitop Myoplast CSI4* Puisssance, whilst Shane Breen with CSF Vendi Cruz, and Clem McMahon with Pacato both produced double clears to finish 2nd and 6th respectively in the Watts Commercial Finance CSI4* 1m50 class.
However, the star of the show was the Irish bred mare, Cartown Danger Mouse (ISH), ridden by Paul Kennedy for Ireland. The 12yr old mare, by Harlequin du Carel, stormed to victory in both the Watts Commercial Finance CSI4* 1m50 class and in the Equerry CSI4* 1m60 Grand Prix, narrowly beating his Irish compatriots, Shane Breen (1m50) and Billy Twomey (1m60), in both classes.
